Clever Advertisement, Smart Placement. (Clorox/Mad Men)

Clorox Ad, Mad Men Season 2Last night, my good friend Matt opened up his new Mad Men Season 2 Blu-Ray. We were looking through the contents and came across this clever little ad. Simple, elegant design with a witty, tongue-in-cheek message. I feel like the copy is a little unnecessary, that the ad could have been just as successful and even more thought-provoking if it were simply the lipstick-on-collar and the bottle of Clorox. If you’re not familiar with Mad Men, I highly recommend checking it out. The new season starts soon, but you still have some time to catch up.

    You may also find it cute to discover a video ad on the season 2 dvd you just paid for. Others are disgusted by this invasion of our personal lives by the whores and pimps who populate the advertising industry. On the upside, everyone now has the perfect moral right to download this show illegally. Screw A&E and boycott Clorox. It’s the right thing to do folks.
